    Life is Good!

I'd given up on xanga and I apologize... I did not give up on reading everyone elses blogs, thoughts, songs, and rambles, but I gave up on my own...

So, let's try this again :) Hello, my name is Patrick, and I'm a sinner saved by God's grace! Life has changed a great deal since I last updated, but in all honesty, life is good! We're now in south Florida as the corps officer's of the Lake Worth Corps. Our two kids, Philip and Julia, are growing up faster than we can document with pictures and Carey and I celebrated our fifth anniversary last month. No motorcycle yet, but I've been promised "soon". Parents, we know that word real well. It could mean yes or it can mean no. Almost like "maybe". Growing up, I used to hate that word with a passion, because more often than not it meant "no" but it was said to keep me from asking more and more. I loved it when a question was answered with, "Go ask your mother" or "Go ask your Father", but "maybe" was more often than not a lost cause... But, I digress... Life is good!

Today, Carey is at home with the kids and I'm in the office working on my sermon for Sunday and a plan for our class at Bible Conference. Preaching in Tallahassee, Fort Walton Beach, and Lake Worth have all been different. A good different, but I've had to change the way I write and preach in all three. I've only brought the message once since we've been here is Lake Worth, and it was truly a blessing to my heart. I'm really looking forward to this Sunday because we've had some people out of town and I'm excited to see how the service moves and feels. We'll see :)

God is good, and I'm so thankful to be where I am right now. And its time to get back to work. Thanks for taking the time to read my rambles. Take Care and God Bless!

Can you say whirlwind? That's how things have been this past month. I can honestly say that without the sacrifice of precious sleep, I have not had time to update my Xanga! Yeah, I know my wife has updated almost everyday but, come on, she's my wife. She lives for her Xanga (And God, and our kids, and occasionally me, but you get the point :) She loves her Xanga.

So anyway, we are here in Fort Walton Beach, safe and blessed. We had our first Sunday Worship Service yesterday and we were blessed with the Holy Spirit and a wonderful time of fellowship. Its getting harder to entertain Philip and keep him still but everyone keeps reminding me he's 2, so as long as he doesn't break anything or hurt anyone, I guess I should let him go (with respectable boundaries, of course). Any comments or tips would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks!

This area has the cleanest beaches. Yeah, you have the occasional piece of trash, but I mean, their are no rocks, the sand is mostly if not completely white, and their are no shells. Maybe its because we were on a very public beach and other people pick them up, but there were no shells! It was kinda weird.

We're almost unpacked from our boxes. Our garage, front room, living room and kitchen are completely unpacked but that leaves all the bedrooms. Oh well, we might be done before Christmas. Maybe :)

Well, friends, Carey is off at camp today dropping the girlgaurds off. I'm having to hold down the fort and make sure Philip doesn't do any of the above mentioned. Julia? She's good. Only cries when she's hungry or wet. Now if only I could teach her to take care of those two things, we'd be set! Everyone have a wonderful holiday tomorrow, enjoy the day off, and I'll try and write more later. God Bless! Peace, love, and homemade sweet iced tea!

Please tell me if this is normal. The older I get the more I don't know what I want for my birthday. Seriously, when I was younger, I knew what I wanted for my birthday the day after Christmas. Now, five days before my 24th, I really have no clue. My wife keeps asking, and I keep saying, "I don't know". I suppose I have everything I want in life; a beautiful, loving wife, two great kids, and a wonderful ministry doing what, I hope, makes God happy and makes me happy. What else could a guy ask for? Yeah, a motorcycle, but let's be realistic :) Maybe a few birthdays from now we'll talk about it :) But for now, a date with my wife, dinner and a movie, just the two of us... Yeah, that sounds good!

Everybody buckle down and hold on tight. Hurricane season starts today! Have a great weekend :) God Bless! Peace, love, and a Coca-Cola Classic!

The first of May! Where has my winter season gone? When did spring happen? All I see are flowers and pollen everywhere! Hurricanes start in less than a month! Please, Lord, let me view time as a child again, when the afternoons were long and lazy, and you could play till the street lights came on. Now, time is so scheduled I don't even have time to enjoy it. Maybe that's why it seems like time, seasons, years fly by. We, as adults, don't take time to enjoy it like we did as kids. I propose a vacation from time, schedules, and plans. A vacation to enjoy the things of life we're too busy to do or see or experience any other day. A Timeless Vacation! Yeah, sounds cheesy, but seriously, stop working all the time! Be a kid again and enjoy a moment or two. You can blame me if you get in trouble, I don't mind :)

Well, folks, back to my homework, for now :) Everyone have a wonderful week. And I'll try and write more later. Seriously, try a Timeless Vacation, even if only for an hour or two and see how much better you feel. Take care and God Bless! Peace, love, and chocolate, vanilla, and peanut butter ice cream!

This font brings back a lot of memories. Back in training, Captain Roni Robbins was my Homiletics professor. Homiletics in a nut shell, an effective way to write sermons and deliver them. Who better to teach this class that Roni Robbins?! What an awesome, powerful, Holy Spirit led woman of God! Thank you, Aunt Roni, thank you!

So back to the memory... When she would write something out for the class, either sermon notes, teaching material, anything, she would use this font, Comic Sans MS. Since then, I've written all of my sermons in this font. It's easy to read, and it makes me smile :)

So the last week has been awesome. My son, Philip, is two! Can you believe it?! If you spent an hour with him, you'd believe it :) He's ornery, mean, and loud one minute and then your best friend the next! Sounds familiar, eh? :)

We had Men's Camp this weekend and I couldn't have had more fun. I was in charge of the XBOX tournament which actually turned out to be a blessing. Most everybody was able to play before lunch, so after lunch I was able to play PAINTBALL!!! 4 wonderful, stress relieving, adrenaline pumping hours of paint, sweat, and welts! I love this camp! Sunday morning we had a wonderful worship service with a message from God through Major Hedgren, and a safe trip home afterwards.

All in all, its been a great week. Now, its time for lunch and some sermon preparation. Everyone have a wonderful week, and I'll try and write more later. Take care and God Bless! Peace, love, and chocolate chip waffles!
